The monthly newsletter (what you are reading now!) posted on our website is the Director’s Message. The Director’s Message will focus on school wide events and IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER with an occasional article that addresses a pertinent parenting topic. Each class will be emailing it’s families their own individual newsletters along with the P.M. Extended Care Happenings that your child participates in if they stay past 12:30. Therefore, it is important that you read both!

August and September went quite well – Starting school during the summer was a new experience for all of us, but all of the extra water play was a great distraction for our youngest children and we got big smiles and laughter throughout the morning from even our saddest newbies! Hopefully, teacher communication and pictures sent to you of your kids having fun helped relieve our anxious new parents as well! By mid September, our youngest already settled into their routine and looked forward to hugs from a favorite teacher, playing with a favorite toy, or dancing to a favorite song! On the other hand, our oldest kids and their parents were so ready to be back at school and back into their familiar routines. It just amazes us how much they grow over the summer…in size and personality!.

Helpful reminders:

While the days are still warm, don’t forget to apply sunscreen before coming to school.

Please drive slowly and carefully and follow the arrows through the parking lot. Always hold your child’s hand when walking through the parking lot.

Hopefully if your child has allergies, you have filled out and returned your allergy forms along with any necessary medications. We have posted all known allergies in the classrooms, activity center and kitchen. We have a NO NUT POLICY at Growing Tree. This applies to school provided snacks, parent provided lunches, and ANY SPECIAL CELEBRATION TREATS. Special Celebration treats to be given to the whole class must not only be nut free, they must be store bought, as we can’t guarantee homemade treats aren’t contaminated by nut products. Before bringing in a special classroom treat, discuss it with your child’s teachers to make sure it meets our “nut free” and store bought criteria. We have an extensive list of “safe” treats posted in all classrooms and the office as well.

Please refer to our Parent Handbook available online for other Growing Tree policies and information.

We want to thank all of our families for their concern and patience while we renovate the school after the water damage caused by one of our upstairs bathrooms. We will be sending you weekly updates on the renovation progress. We are so fortunate to be part of such a supportive community.
